The Alliance of Artists Communities is a membership organization, serving Artist-in-Residency programs. Their website also has a directory of residencies, post of application deadlines and online guide for artists interested in attending such programs.

ACAN was established to bring together Arab institutions, associations, and artists in late 2020. As the network develops, it plans to address cultural, political, economic, and social issues, including programs for children and youth, artistic programs related to theater, in addition to programs for exchanging experiences between institutions.

The first audiovisual network dedicated to art residencies. Created in 2017, the network has over 200 members from more than 20 countries listed thanks to their video channel or original contents produced by AIRTV. The main object of AIRTV is to allow artists and professionals to find, thanks to videos, the ideal residency to develop their projects.  AIRTV also shares the open calls and events organized by its members, and proposes professional management coaching and specialized contents on the residency sector through its Intranet AIRTVPro.

Res Artis is “an association of over 400 centers and organizations in over 70 countries. Our members are dedicated to offering artists, curators, and all manner of creative people a time and place away from their every-day life, an experience framed within a unique geographic and cultural context.” – Res Artis website

International artists-in-residency programs provide artists with time, space and inspiration to do their work. They are an ideal entrée into another culture, offering new networks and possibilities. Experiences are also, typically, generative: Participation in one often leads to another.
