Artists In Residence Television is an audiovisual platform dedicated to art residencies.
Artists In residence Television presents art residencies through video contents so that artists can choose which programs fit best their projects. It shares video channels of art residencies and produces original content through residencies’ visits in different regions of the world. Artists In Residence TV also shares open-calls and events of its members to communicate existing opportunities to the art community. Between 2017 and 2020, Artists In Residence TV’s founders, Alexandra Christev and Vladimir de Vaumas, have realized more than a 1000 interviews of residency founders, managers, curators, and artists, and have visited 320 residencies between Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, French Guyana, Surinam, Venezuela, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Cuba. In addition, they created AIRtvPro, an Intranet for professionals of the field where they can find the best practices of residency management. Artists In Residence TV is also home to the Institute of Research on Art Residencies (IRRA) that produces annual reports on the global situation of residencies. Finally, Artists In Residence TV edits guides of art residencies region by region; the first one, called GRAAL gathers more than 500 residencies in Latin America and will be published in 2021.
