079ISTORIES is a sincere effort to create a microcosm of Ahmedabad, India now a World Heritage City, where local, national and international talent can showcase their skills, whilst becoming a part of the bigger story that emulates life in its most beautiful form.
079|STORIES was born out of a dream to create a cultural space in the city that can cater to the needs of design, art and creativity. It unfolds itself as a promenade which houses an Art Gallery, exhibit cum workshop space and an amphitheatre designed by Khushnu and Sonke Hoof , partners to Pritzker Loureate Balkrishna doshi. Within a span short of 2 years 079|STORIES has curated and exhibited works of prominent artists like Paresh Maity, Jayshree Burman, Brinda Miller, Seema Kohli, Ravi Mandlik, Jaydeep Mehrotra, Vijay Shinde and Anwar. Also works of some of the established emerging artists - Radhika Hamlai, Vipul Prajapati and Khanjan Dalal have also been hosted at 079|STORIES. The first ever POTTERS FESTIVAL of Ahmedabad city was hosted for 3 days with participation of 20+ ceramic artists from across India. During the Potters Festival renowned ceramists Ray Meeker, Madhavi Subramnian, Nilma, Khanjan Dalal had exhibited some of their exquisite works. A Jazz Festival of 2 days had some of the music enthusiasts enjoying the different bands from the city. 079|STORIES ensures to include people from all age groups and walks of life and organises different kinds of workshops related to painting, crafts and performing art (Theatre).
