"I am interested in the moment of
reverie, when one's sense of self is lost; the moment when one joins
with something larger than themselves,” Goodell
writes. “I want to make this reverie palpable, so that
it isn't just an intellectual construct but an event that is felt.
In recent sculptures I have been attempting to capture a poetic metaphor
for the complexities and ambiguities of our inner lives. For that reason
I have focused on the emptiness within a form, or the space between
layers."
