AN URBAN SKY

Dimensions variable. (each panel 14"x14"x 2") oil on wood, newspaper, motor, steel, aluminum couplings, and/or paper mache tree, and/or sound.

Nine of the 16 individual panels are motorized. One side of the panels is highly textured and painted cool grey; another is midnight blue. The motor flips the panels over to suggest a changing skyline. The individual panels also can be re-configured to respond to the architecture of the space in which the piece is exhibited. The idea is to create an up-dated, modular version of a Baroque sky. (The piece can either be wall or ceiling mounted. A button can be included that recreates the sound of rain and thunder; and the piece also can be shown with a black or plain wall background).
