"I came away from the conference with scores of new ideas about what it can look like to be an artist and how to go about creating enriching, provocative and stimulating experiences for making new work, developing new ideas, and creating new opportunities for collaboration and exhibition." – a 2009 Conference attendee
In today's world - in which ideas, products and information travel freely around the globe – artists, writers and musicians need to find ways not only to
understand and compete with their international peers, but also to become active participants in this increasingly interconnected and interdependent society.
But how to do that? How to find the money, the time and place to go?
TransCultural Exchange's 2009 Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts, which took place April 3-5 at the Boston Omni Parker House Hotel, provided
not only answers but tangible results to these questions.
By all accounts, TransCultural Exchange's 2009 Conference on International Opportunities in the Arts was a huge success. With nearly 400 attendees and speakers from 50 countries, the networking possibilities were endless. Artists found new venues for their works, places to explore and ways to share their art with the world. As one of the speakers noted as well, "This is the kind of event I wouldn't like to miss in the future, not only for the panel discussions, but also for the many informal conversations I could have with colleagues, artists and actors of the international art scene."
Mark your calendars now: TransCultural Exchange's next International Opportunities in the Arts Conference will be held at Boston's Omni Parker House Hotel, April 8 – 10, 2011.
