I received my MFA at Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea in 1990, and my MA and Advanced Professional Study from New York University. I have had several one person exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions in New York and internationally since 1993. I was also selected for several artist residency programs: Millay Colony for the Arts, NY (1996), The Edward Albee Foundation, NY (1998), The Constance Saltonstall Foundation, NY (1999), Virginia Center for the Arts, VA (2000), Centrum, WA (2000), Center for Photography at Woodstock, NY (2000).
My recent mixed media works are representations of the complexity of
communication. In particular, I am searching for a relationship between the
single hand alphabet of the deaf, my evolving visual language and expressions
of other artists. This body of work has encouraged me to discover new facets
of my own identity and explore new concepts. My work functions as an avenue
towards better understanding of all people.
