Mary Sherman

About September 11, 2011, Sherman writes, "Being name Mary and, hence, quite contrary, I figured that everyone would somehow use the landscape to make a piece; so I chose the sky. What could be better? A full moon was imminent. The artists around me fantastic. And, the area I chose - a haunting grove of standing dead oaks - was perfectly sublime. "All that was needed was champagne and a few more stars (43 to be exact). Thus, after numerous tests with glow-in-the dark paint, Johannes Michler finding Lunker Lights® and hours of repeatedly wading through brambles to climb a 40' ladder to hang an array of extra celestial orbs, everyone was invited to a viewing, a twilight picnic-hunt for stars, divining new constellations, telepathing moon messages to lost friends and distant lovers and remembering: "Two armies fight throughout the day,
The battle growing fiercer every hour,
But when night's darkness covers them,
Both sleep together in one bed."
'Night 13,' from 1001 Arabian Nights: Tales of 1001 Nights.
