From Thinking Hands
Yu-Wen Wu • Taiwan/USA • Artist
Ping-Nan Hseuh • Taiwan • Calligrapher
Sam Ou • Taiwan/USA • Cellist
Dr. Julian Wu • USA • Neurosurgeon
For their collaboration, the visual artist Yu-Wen Wu combined her interest in the fluidity of water with the poetry of
Sam Ou’s music, Ping-Nan Hseuh’s brush and ink calligraphy and images derived from MRI scans and other neuro-imaging techniques provided by Dr. Julian
Wu into horizontal, scroll-like forms, hung from floor to ceiling.
“From Thinking Hands,” Wu writes, “is a collaboration addressing the interdisciplinary crossing of boundaries between art and science,
East and West, the forces of nature and the forces of man.”
