Navajo turquoise, shell beads and Tibetan turquoise

My concerns are with unifying seemingly disparate principles: contemporary and traditional, literal and symbolic, refined and rough, simple and sophisticated, permanent and transient, suggestive and immediate, internal and external, attractive and repulsive, purification and destruction. This bracelet is from two similar cultures on opposite sides of the world, which I draw inspiration. Half is Navajo turquoise and shell beads and half is Tibetan turquoise and shell beads.
